The Castle is the last and the largest residence ever built by Emperor Frederick II in Basilicata. Constructed between 1242 and 1250, it served as a leisure and hunting lodge. Erected on an evocative spot of a territory of strategic importance since the Early Middle Ages, it will be hosting the Mediterranean Contemporary Art Prize 2019.
